Things I Learned

This will be a page where I just add my lessons learned from day to day:

1)  Tuna is high in mercury.  A better source for protein is Salmon.  Canned salmon can be purchased for a little more than Tuna at Costco.  Albacore Tuna has even more mercury then regular tuna.  Bottom line:  don't each too much Tuna!

2)  Pack my lunch meals the day before.  It has helped me stay organized and on top of my miles so far.

3)  Using myfitnesspal.com has been great for tracking my calories and exercise.  It is also great to see if I am deficient on certain vitamins.  The other nice thing about this site is that one of my friends is on it.  She helps me stay honest and keeps me motivated.

4)  Drink lots of water!  I still woke up extra thirsty on day 3 after drinking over ten glasses of water the day before.  There is definitely a reason why they recommend a gallon of water everyday.

5)  For me I love sugar.  So, drinkingt he Advocare Post Workout shakes on certain days was a great treat and helped stave off the temptation for a real candy bar!
