Day 7 and 8

My energy level has been through the roof.  I have been working out about 90-120 minutes per day!  I remember two months ago telling my husband that I actually physically do not feel like moving anymore.  One week, I would come home, get in my pajamas and head to bed.  I needed a boost to get me back on track.  My personal trainer, boot camp classes and 24 day challenge has been the perfect trio to get me back to healthy.

In have had to add magnesium citrate on a daily basis to help stay regular, but other than that it has been pretty easy to stay on track.  I did also add Kashi Go Lean crunch bars.  They have a little chocolate on them, but it helped stave off my craving for sweets.

I have managed to keep my calorie count below 1400 with the exception of yesterday.  I went a little over.  This has been a huge struggle for me in the past, but with the 24 day challenge I have not had a problem keeping it down.

I lost another pound!  That makes four total!

Below is my food and exercise diary for the last two days:

Day 6

Last night I took an extra probiotic packet, drank some coffee and took some magnesium citrate to help with the constipation issue.  It worked!  Whew!  I was getting worried there for a while.

My energy level is pretty high despite not being able to get a good night's sleep.  I did over 40 minutes of cardio before my session with my personal trainer.  I felt great the entire workout.  I can tell that the boot camp classes, personal training and advocare have been making a difference.

My diet has completely changed over the last few days and I think my body is a little confused right now.  I am eatin way more protein than I used to an dhave cut down on my carb intake.    No refined sugar, white bread, white rice, and lots of fruit and vegetables to date.  I didn't have any dairy until yesterday, when I had coffee to try to relieve my issue!  The loads of raw foods has been a welcome change in my diet.

Day 4 and 5

Day 4 and 5:

These were the first days off the fiber cleanse and onto the probiotic packets.  I still took the herbal cleanse supplements at night and the omega supplements with dinner.

I did experience constipation these two days.  I talked to Lori about it and she said to do what I would do normally for irregularity.  So, I got a break from the rules and got a latte from Starbucks.  I also took some magnesium citrate to try to help.

I noticed on Day 5 that I wasn't as hungry between snacks and meals.  I had to remind myself to eat.  I also drank a spark energy drink a few hours before hitting boot camp and I felt great the entire workout.  I even did a few extra minutes of cardio before and after class.  I felt like I could go a lot longer, but it was getting late.

My girlfriend who is doing this with me, Pamela, has lost 8 lbs already!  I am so proud of her!  She is inspiring me to stick with it and stay on track!

Day 3

It is Saturday and I slept in.  Again, I had to get up several times to go to the bathroom.  Just to see how much water I was losing each time, I weight myself.  Each time I lost .4 lbs.

This morning I weighed myself and I weight 162.8 lbs!  I lost three pounds!  I couldn't believe it.  It set the tone for the rest of the day and motivated me to go to the gym, eat healthy and keep it going!

I felt great and I think I am rubbing off on my husband.  I got him to drink an Advocare spark energy drink before we worked out and a post-workout shake afterwards.  He said he felt great when we got home and starting doing pushups in the middle of the living room after drinking his post workout shake!

Today, we went to Costco to a few things and I found some great items for my 24 day challenge.   I found cans of Alaskan salmon (about 5 oz and not the typical larger cans you see in the grocery stores).  I also found a soy energy nut blend.  Great for snacking on the go.  The calories are a little high so I am going to have to watch how much I eat of this stuff.  The only other negative was that it had sugared cranberries, which I will have to hand pick out for the first 10 days.

I did notice today that my calcium intake has been low for the last few days, so I am going to ask Lori if I can take a calcium supplement during this time period.  Since you have to stay off of dairy, I am finding it hard to find calcium sources!

Day 2

Feeling a little tired this morning because I had to get up several times last night to go to the bathroom.

Found an easier way to track my food via http://www.myfitnesspal.com/.  I highly recommend using this tool if you are going to embark on the 24 day challenge.

It is also easier to post on my blog what I ate for the day.

Before working out I took a small bottle of spark energy drink.  Wow, did that make a difference.  I felt like I could go on forever.  I did go out to dinner last night at Outback.  It was a little difficult to find something to fit this diet, but I managed by ordering a California Chicken Salad sans cheese, dressing, and croutons.  It was a little difficult being surrounded by everyone who were eating bloomin onions, large steaks, fries, but then I looked at the person that was eating these things.  They looked rather unhealthy for the most part and some of them looked downright uncomfortable in their size.  So I just kept saying to myself, "Does this taste as good as skinny feels?"

Today was a little harder to get through then yesterday, but all in all in wasn't too bad.

Day 1: The Genesis

I actually started yesterday, March 1st, 2012.  I got on the scale... ick, 165.8 lbs.  (the scale must be broken!).

6 am: I started my morning with a fiber cleanse drink, quickly followed by my spark energy drink.

30 minutes later, I decided to eat two hard boiled eggs... I feel full, but I need to eat.

9 am:  snack time.  hmmm... 1 cucumber, half a can of albacore tuna
10 am:  miss my carbs, feeling run down, need a second spark energy drink

12 pm:  half a can of albacore tuna, 2 cups of lettuce, one red pepper

3 pm:  at Kimo's for a farewell retirement get together- feeling tired and surrounded by fried foods!  Order a small house salad, with a piece of grilled chicken...  I keep saying to myself, "does this taste as good as skinny feels???"  Made it without, giving intot he french fries and hotwings!

6 pm:  Personal training session with Bunni.  Wondering if I am going to be tired from the lack for carbs.  Made it through without any problems!  Had an Advocare Post Workout chocolate shake.  It was good to eat something sweet!

7 pm:  Dinner- brown rice, green beans and one can of tuna.  Four Omega supplements.

9 pm:  herbal cleanse pack

I drank a lot of water today!  I had to get up and go to the bathroom twice last night!

What I learned today:  Canned tuna is very high in mercury according to several website I checked out.  Canned Salmon has way less.

Note to self:  Get canned salmon for work next week!
